George Clarke isfounder and CEO of Chicago-based UMF Corporation, innovator and specialists inenvironmental hygiene. For more than 10 years, Clarke hasbeen an aggressive advocate of raising standards in the battle to reducehealthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Leading hotels turned to UMF todevelop an ergonomically sound, sustainable Guest Room cleaning process thatwould significantly improve cleanliness, increase productivity while reducingthe reliance on and number of chemicals used. Clarke co-developedthe ABC’s of Housekeeping, a PerfectCLEAN® sustainable color-codedsolution that has proven very effective at increasing Guest Satisfaction scoresand providing a safer more hygienic Guest environment all while decreasingcosts, in partnership with a leading hotel company. Additionally, this provenprogram has improved staff morale and productivity and decreased staff downtimein both the healthcare and hospitality industries.Clarke holdsmore than 30 patents both issued and pending, including those for his line ofhigh performance micro-denier textiles under the brand names PerfectCLEAN andMicrillon®. For clients, his PerfectCLEAN Environmental Hygiene System, whichcomprises high-performance products and environmental process specialty training,has been simultaneously instrumental in reducing rates of infection whileraising patient HCAHPS scores. UMF Corporation wasawarded the Sodexo 2017 Innovation Vendor Partner Award for FacilitiesManagement for the diligent work to design innovative and differentiated solutionsthat save time for their operators resulting in reduced waste, environmentalimpact, and cost. He collaborates with Sodexo to share new innovations andoffer their expertise to help solve challenges, and provides invaluablesupport, guidance and assists in the development of a strong foundation inhygienic-cleaning methods. The partnership with Sodexo has been extremelysuccessful. Clarke isrecognized for his product innovation and effectively working to impact theQuality of Life by creating cleaning methodologies that offer efficiencies forSodexo’s operators and creates a safe environment that reduces preventablehealthcare-associated, hospitality, campus/school infections. Clarke is agraduate of the University of Toronto.
